Pre-Writing Activities

Making fluid, yet controlled movements. Working left to right. Finding joy in self expression. These are all aspects of writing! In the Primary classroom, working on these foundational skills may not look like the typical repetitive letter writing practices of our youth. Instead, it might look like threading a needle, painting at the easel, or pin punching. What pre-writing activities will you spot in your next observation?
