Bijan Robinson, a running back for the Atlanta Falcons, achieved a significant milestone in his NFL career during the team's game against the Las Vegas Raiders. Robinson surpassed 1,000 rushing yards in a single season for the first time since entering the league last year. This achievement was reached in the first quarter of Monday night's game.
"This is a cool achievement, but I think this is for the whole team," Robinson commented following the Falcons' victory over the Raiders. "This isn't something that I have done. It's the o-line. This is a team-achievement. I thank those guys up front every single day — and Charlie (Woerner), Ross (Dwelley) and Kyle (Pitts) as an extension and the receivers. Without them it would never happen."
Before Monday's game, Robinson had accumulated 977 rushing yards and 401 receiving yards. He added 125 rushing yards and 10 passing yards to his total during this match, with 22 carries contributing significantly to the Falcons' offensive efforts. By averaging 5.7 yards per carry, Robinson played a crucial role in securing their win.
Robinson's performance against the Raiders marked his tenth game surpassing 100 scrimmage yards this season, making him the first Falcons player to achieve such consistency since Julio Jones in 2018.
As reported by Will McFadden on Sunday, Robinson ranks highly in several league statistics. Among NFC players, he stands third with 1,378 scrimmage yards over 13 games and second among NFC running backs with 401 receiving yards. Additionally, he is tied for fifth place with 66 first downs (50 from rushing) and sixth in total touchdowns with nine (eight from rushing).
Entering Week 15 of the season, Robinson was second only to Saquon Barkley in games with at least 100 scrimmage yards. He also ranks third among NFC running backs for missed tackles forced.
The last time a Falcons running back achieved similar success was Tyler Allgeier's rookie year performance in 2022 when he also surpassed 1,000 rushing yards.
