The offseason for the Atlanta Falcons is seeing several changes, with some players departing and others joining the team. Notable moves include Grady Jarrett leaving and Leonard Floyd joining, but the roster is still evolving. As the team approaches the NFL Draft, experts share their insights on what should be the team's priorities.

Tori McElhaney believes that the Falcons should focus on acquiring an edge rusher. "I like the addition of Leonard Floyd to this defense. I am looking forward to seeing Bralen Trice back to 100%. And I feel good about the progress Arnold Ebiketie made in 2024. However, none of that means I don't think the Falcons overlook an edge rusher in this year's draft, whether that be in the first or second round," McElhaney said. She mentions Jalon Walker, Mike Green, Shemar Stewart, and others as potential picks for the Falcons' draft position at No. 15, noting it as prime real estate for addressing a significant need.

Will McFadden agrees on the need for a pass rusher but takes a broader view, emphasizing the importance of gaining a schematic advantage on offense. McFadden suggests leveraging quarterback Michael Penix Jr.'s talents, whom opponents have limited information on, to develop an innovative offense. "What I believe should be the primary goal, at least for the offensive staff, is to find an innovation that gives Atlanta a true edge by showing defenses something they've never seen," McFadden states. He highlights the influence of Sean McVay's methods and suggests that the Falcons find their version of similar innovations.

Terrin Waack shifts attention to an unresolved issue — the position of the starting center. With Drew Dalman joining the Chicago Bears, the Falcons are left with a decision on Ryan Neuzil, their restricted free agent center, who has yet to re-sign. "As a restricted free agent, the Falcons placed a right of first refusal tender on Neuzil. This means Atlanta can retain Neuzil by matching any offer extended to him from another team," Waack explains. Without a clear resolution, Waack considers securing the center position as a top offseason priority for the Falcons.

The Falcons' offseason checklist continues to evolve as they navigate free agency and draft preparations, aiming to strengthen their roster and strategic play for the coming season.
