If you attended our Town Hall meeting tonight on active shooter, we thank you for getting involved and having an interest in protecting yourself and your loved ones should you find yourself in such a horrific situation. If you did not attend, you missed an informative evening of information from our department, the Douglas County School System Police, and the Douglas County Sheriff's Office (Georgia) on active shooter situations, what you should do and expect, and what law enforcement will do in response. Chief Sparks, Captain Stafford, Chief Whaley, and Colonel Oliver all delivered the same message - law enforcement in this community is ready to respond, well trained, equipped and prepared to work together to take the actions necessary to immediately address such a threat.
