During National Police Week we are reminded of the great sacrifice our friend and coworker, Deputy Haven Blake Gammill, made while protecting the citizens of Douglas County. On Thursday, February 24, 2005 he was shot and killed while serving a warrant. National Police Week pays special recognition to those law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty for the safety and protection of others. Sheriff Tim Pounds and the Douglas County Sheriff's Office respect, honor and remember Deputy Blake Gammill and alll of the other police officers who have fallen in the line of duty. #591 #policeweek #dcso
