The Atlanta Falcons are set to re-sign wide receiver and special teamer KhaDarel Hodge, as reported by Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. The agreement is reportedly a two-year deal valued at $6 million.
Hodge, who earned his first Pro Bowl selection last season for his contributions on special teams, had several standout moments in 2024. Notably, during the Falcons' Week 4 victory over the New Orleans Saints, he recovered a muffed punt in the end zone for a touchdown. In Week 5 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Hodge secured a 45-yard walk-off touchdown in overtime. Additionally, in Week 15 against the Las Vegas Raiders, he managed to block one punt and tip another, earning him NFC Special Teams Player of the Week honors.
"Hodge works his tail off," said Falcons punter Bradley Pinion on December 16, 2024. "Phenomenal teammate. Phenomenal gunner. Phenomenal wide receiver. I mean, he's an all-around good guy."
Hodge began his NFL career with the Los Angeles Rams as an undrafted rookie free agent in 2018 before playing for the Cleveland Browns from 2019 to 2020 and the Detroit Lions in 2021. He joined the Falcons in 2022.
Over his career spanning nine starts and 106 appearances, Hodge has accumulated 64 receptions for 995 yards and two touchdowns, averaging 15.5 yards per reception. Now aged 30, he is entering his eighth season in the league.
