This defeat marks the first time this season that the Falcons have lost consecutive games, affecting their standing in the playoff race. Despite holding a two-game lead in the NFC South with a 4-1 record, the team could be further ahead as they approach their bye week.

The Falcons had previously lost to the New Orleans Saints, a game they were expected to win given their statistical advantage and stability compared to the Saints' recent coaching changes. The Broncos entered the Week 11 matchup with a 5-5 record against Atlanta's 6-4, indicating closely matched teams. However, the game's outcome was unexpectedly one-sided.

A pivotal moment occurred in the third quarter when a reversed call led to a Broncos touchdown. After an incomplete pass from Denver quarterback Bo Nix was reviewed and ruled complete, six plays later Nix connected with Tory Franklin for a touchdown, extending Denver's lead to 28-6.

Missed opportunities plagued Atlanta early on. A drive led by Kirk Cousins, Drake London, and Bijan Robinson reached Denver's 1-yard line but was set back by penalties. These mistakes forced Younghoe Koo to kick a field goal instead of securing a touchdown.

Kicker Younghoe Koo delivered both his field goal attempts successfully after struggling against the Saints last week. He made kicks from 41 and 51 yards out during Sunday's game.

On defense, Ross Dwelley marked his first catch as a Falcon after joining from San Francisco in the offseason. Several injuries affected key players including Kevin King with a concussion and Darnell Mooney with a hamstring injury.
