Griffin, Georgia, in Spalding County suffered some major losses due to recent tornado damage. We are sending out a call for assistance. We ask you, the citizens of Douglas County and Douglasville, to help provide relief for our neighbors. They are asking for specific items to help those displaced in their community.
Through tomorrow afternoon, Wednesday, January 25, at 12:00 PM we will be accepting the following items at the Douglasville Police Department (2083 Fairburn Road). These items can be placed in the cardboard box located inside the front door of the police department.
*New Blankets
*Pet Food
*Large Plastic Lawn Bags
*Toiletry Items (Toothpaste/brush, Soap, Shampoo, Deodorant, etc)
*Medical Supplies (Neosporin, Tylenol, bandages, etc)
*Canned Goods/Non-perishables (Soup, Ramen Noodles, Peanut Butter, veggies, etc)
*Diapers/Wipes
*Baby Food/Formula
*Flashlights
*Batteries
*Tarps
*Can Openers
Gift cards (Wal-Mart, Target, etc) - these items should be given directly to the receptionist at the police department.
