We just finished our Peace Officers for Justice and Accountability Rally at the PD and would like to thank everyone who attended. Chief Sparks began with a moment of silence for the two Cobb County Sheriff's Office deputies who lost their lives in the line of duty earlier this week. He spoke of how we, in law enforcement, have to hold ourselves accountable for our actions and stressed “if you see something, say something”. Douglas County District Attorney's Office D.A. Dalia Racine, Chief Whaley from the Douglas County School System Police, Douglas County Sheriff's Office (Georgia) Lt. Colonel Pounds, Douglas County Fire/EMS Department Battalion Chief Roberts, Chief Magistrate Judge Camp, and the PD Command Staff members all spoke and the common theme was accountability, working together, and making our great community even better. In addition to our citizens in the audience, the students from Youth Against Violence joined us. We appreciate everyone who took the time to attend. #onewithourcommunity
