The Douglas County Sheriff's Office is currently under staffed in almost every division. Investigator Jay Smith was helping out by working a shift on patrol Saturday night. His evening started off with a flat tire from a knife in the roadway. He pulled in to a gas station, jacked the patrol car up and heard a voice say, "Hey, officer. You need some help?". "T", as he introduced himself, jumped out of his car and began changing the tire. They had lots of conversation about empathy toward others and helping people out. T helped turn what could have been a bad situation into an inspirational moment. Let's all take a lesson from T and look for opportunities to serve others. #empathy #community #serve #service #dcso
