City of Douglasville issued the following announcement on Aug. 23.
Every other month, one of the City’s 7 core values is spotlighted. During that month, employees have the opportunity to nominate a colleague who they believe best demonstrates that specific core value.
Detective Sgt. Gil Guthrie was recognized for the city core value “Fairness” recently. Employees are nominated by their peers and Sgt. Guthrie’s nomination stated: “He begins with respecting each person. He is morally motivated in his life and work. These are key elements needed to treat others with fairness as a friend and as a supervisor. He would never ask for anything of another that he would not do himself or probably has done much more of. He is not scared of admitting fault but works hard to keep his responsibilities. As a supervisor, he is always willing to do what is in the best interest of the employee." Congratulations, Sgt. Guthrie!
