The Atlanta Falcons are preparing to face the New York Jets in Week 13, a matchup that has added interest due to connections between coaching staffs. Jeff Ulbrich, currently on the Falcons’ staff, previously served as defensive coordinator for both teams. He worked with the Falcons in 2020 before joining the Jets from 2021 to 2024, including a stint as interim head coach at the end of his tenure in New York. Ulbrich returned to Atlanta in 2025.
Ahead of Sunday’s game at MetLife Stadium, members of Atlanta’s offensive coaching staff have sought insight from Ulbrich about the Jets’ defense. “Really, the whole offensive staff has in some ways,” Ulbrich said. “Schematically, it looks like they’re going in a little bit different directions, so there’s not a whole lots that’s the same from my time there. But from a personnel standpoint, I’m sure there’s some insight.”
Ulbrich noted that many players he coached during his time with the Jets remain on their roster. “It’ll be always nice to see them,” he said. “But at the end of the day, it’s the next opponent.”
