As the 2025 NFL Draft approaches, various figures in the sports commentary world are presenting their unique takes on potential draft outcomes. Tori McElhaney, Will McFadden, and Terrin Waack offered their divergent views.

Tori McElhaney stated, “I don’t think a quarterback outside of Cam Ward is going to be taken in the first round. I know. Shocking that I am not as high on Shedeur Sanders as others seem to be, especially recently.” She raised questions about Sanders’ position in the draft, citing varied expert opinions ranging from a top-10 pick to a second-round prospect. Furthermore, McElhaney suggested that although linked with several teams, including the New Orleans Saints and the New York Giants, Sanders may not see first-round conviction from teams.

Will McFadden, on the other hand, didn’t direct his focus towards the Atlanta Falcons specifically. Instead, he highlighted Iowa State’s Jaydin Higgins as potentially having the “best career of all the wide receivers in this draft.” McFadden backed his assertion with Higgins’ physical attributes and performance metrics. “When he reaches the league, I think Higgins will immediately find a role as a trusted possession receiver who can create separation for himself and win in contested catch situations,” McFadden said.

Terrin Waack shared a reflective consideration on draft strategies, particularly concerning late-round picks. She initially considered advocating for trading up rather than accumulating lower-round selections. However, she concluded, “I can’t fully get behind scrapping seventh-round picks,” referencing successful careers launched from late selections, such as Donald Driver and Julian Edelman. Waack drew attention to the Falcons’ modest investment in seventh-round players under general manager Terry Fontenot and expressed potential for these players to excel.

As these commentators reveal their ‘zags,’ or unconventional predictions, the anticipation for the NFL Draft continues to build.
