The Atlanta Falcons may be without wide receiver Drake London for a second straight week as they prepare to face the New York Jets. Head coach Raheem Morris addressed London’s status, following his absence from last Sunday’s win over the New Orleans Saints due to a PCL sprain suffered against the Carolina Panthers.
“You say doubtful,” Morris said of London’s potential game status. “He’s moving around well. He’s doing some things. You always take those kind of guys up to the last minute. But week to week? I don’t think it’s this week.”
In London’s absence, receivers Darnell Mooney and David Sills V are expected to continue stepping up after each caught their first touchdown pass of the season in the recent victory over the Saints. Quarterback Kirk Cousins will remain under center for Atlanta, as Michael Penix Jr. had surgery on Tuesday for a partially torn ACL. Additionally, defensive back Billy Bowman Jr. underwent surgery this week to address a ruptured Achilles tendon.
On the offensive line, starting guards Matthew Bergeron and Chris Lindstrom are both managing injuries. Bergeron was limited in practice Wednesday with an ankle issue, while Lindstrom did not participate because of a foot injury.
The team’s latest injury report shows several players with various participation levels during Wednesday’s practice:
